On December 15, 2025, Bangladesh officially launched Kagoj.ai, the nation's inaugural artificial intelligence platform dedicated to the Bangla language. This initiative, undertaken by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, marked a significant advancement in empowering digital content and official communication in Bangla. At the same event held in Dhaka, a new Bangla font named "Julai" was also unveiled, designed for formal and institutional applications.
Kagoj.ai is engineered to support various aspects of Bangla language processing, including writing, official documentation, and content creation, utilizing advanced natural language processing and deep learning technologies. It integrates features such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), speech-to-text, and text-to-speech capabilities to streamline the conversion of materials and enhance accessibility. The platform also aims to contribute to linguistic diversity by planning to collect oral language data from various indigenous communities across Bangladesh.
